Let's Build A Home / The White Stripes / De Stijl

Illustration: Monica Hapsari for OJA
Who doesn't know Piet Mondriaan? As one of the De Stijl pioneers, this Dutch artist had contributed in the development of modern art—particularly the minimalism style. Based on that style, OJA tries to explore the advantages of plastic bag as a material with Mondriaan ‘rules’: abstract shapes and simple, clean colors. The title of this fresh, colorful collection is Manhattaan.

Unique color compositions and playful vertical and horizontal strokes are the strong points of this 16 cm x 30 cm clutch bag. Yes, Manhttaan utilizes discarded (colorful) plastic bags as its basic material. For the lining, OJA chooses fabrics with geometrical and abstract patterns such as polka dot, houndstooth, and other adorable motifs.

A Piece of Art in Your Palm
What makes it more special, all of the Manhattaan clutch bags are unique. No two are the same because the plastic motif for each clutch bag is specially designed and done by hand. That’s why, just like a painting, every piece in Manhattaan collection is highly exclusive.

The complete collection can be purchased online at http://www.facebook.com/ojamantra starting tomorrow: January 28th, 2013.

Forever Hong #OJATIK

Stay Young, Stay Hong!

FIGHT PLASTIC WITH PLASTIC – 2012/COLLABORATION

The Feminine ‘Forever Hong’

Not long after the first collection—Black Flag—had been launched, OJA, collaborating with TikShirt, once again introduce the new collection, titled ‘Forever Hong’. Just like ‘Black Flag’, this oversized clutch (22 cm x 37 cm) is made from discarded black plastic bags, processed with craft technique in such a way to resemble animal leather. The difference is, plastic material in ‘Forever Hong’ has bigger bubble texture, similar to elephant leather.

Classic Batik
This time, TikShirt gives a touch of classic batik on the bag’s inner lining with a selection of beautiful Sogan and Kawung motifs. Embroidery application of Phoenix birds on the bag flap also gives ‘Forever Hong’a feminine feel. Originated from Cirebon, the motif symbolizing eternity, femininity and revival is carefully selected to intensify the clutch’s batik theme. Isn’t that interesting?

Say Yes To Eco-Fashion!
Along with the desire to promote the work of local designers, with this 2nd collaboration, OJA also want to encourage environmental awareness—especially among Indonesian citizens. OJA is calling out to all fashion-conscious people to see fashion as an eco-friendly lifestyle, and vice versa. OJA is assured, supporting our country’s resources and environment is definitely a fashionable thing to do.

Koleksi tas ini sendiri bisa segera didapatkan di TIKShirt, Level One Grand Indonesia East Mall 1st Floor.
This bag collection is available at TiKShirt, Level One Grand Indonesia East Mall 1st Floor.
